About Sweet Polly

Sweet Polly is a cozy neighborhood cocktail bar serving Brooklyn since 2016. The drink menu features classic and innovative craft cocktails along with wine and local beers. Food offerings include tapas-inspired bar snacks and a seasonal selection of oysters.

Part of the same family as Hungry Ghost Coffee, Bar Francis, and Teo’s Ice Cream, this Prospect Heights night spot began as a daydream. For owner Murat Uyaroglu, Hungry Ghost was all about creating gathering places for coffee and conversation. He dreamed of carrying that spirit into the evening. When a beautiful location became available, he made the leap from coffee to cocktails.

The name Sweet Polly was a happy accident. Murat’s first inspiration was the classic cartoon Underdog. He loved the title character’s lighthearted spirit and the idea of winning against all odds. As the space came together, Murat discovered that his daughter and Underdog’s girlfriend shared a name: Polly. 

With cocktails ranging from aromatic to adventurous and non-alcoholic options, Sweet Polly is ready to help you discover your next favorite drink.
